AICMOTO is Born: The Italian Motorcycle Dealers Association 26 Aug 25

On the morning of July 1, 2025, in Milan, the Italian Motorcycle Dealers Association (AICMOTO) was officially founded, with Performing Digital honored to serve as its technological and logistical partner.
Institutional Representation and Training for the Motorcycle Sector
AICMOTO was created as an organization dedicated to protecting and representing the category.
A Key Milestone for the Growth of the Industry in Italy
The establishment of a national trade association was a fundamental step long missing in the Italian motorcycle ecosystem—not only for the commercial side of the market, but especially for institutional representation and overall industry growth. The many challenges and regulatory changes facing the two-wheeler sector every day require a structured and unified response, ensuring development not only for dealerships but also for the motorcycle industry as a whole.
The Motorcycle Dealer Profession Has Changed
Today, motorcycle dealerships are required to meet increasingly high standards in terms of numbers, performance, and services. Success is no longer tied solely to the sale of new vehicles, but above all to the ability to serve customers who are ever more demanding, informed, and digital-minded. AICMOTO was therefore founded with the mission of representing and training professionals who, in 2024 alone, contributed to over 370,000 new motorcycle registrations in Italy—despite a climate of social and economic uncertainty.
President Attilio Pogliani: “A Historic Milestone”
Upon its foundation, the Association’s promoters appointed Attilio Pogliani as President. He stated: “I am thrilled and proud of this achievement, which I consider a historic milestone. From the very beginning, when we started consulting with sector representatives, we immediately sensed the strong willingness to join an association that could represent dealers at every institutional level, acknowledging them as a key component of both the market and the industry’s growth. Each of us brings our own expertise, but we are united by the pursuit of the common good.”
General Director Pier Francesco Caliari: “An Increasingly Crucial Sector”
Following the appointment of the President, Pier Francesco Caliari was named General Director of the Association. He commented: “I am honored that the President and the Board entrusted me with this role. From the outset, I considered it essential to establish an association representing those who work daily in motorcycle retail—a vital link that was missing in the institutional chain of a sector which today plays an increasingly important role in the wider mobility system.”
